Aokiko Day Camp [6/15-8/31]

Lakeside Aokiko Day Camp (Ember Lodge Exclusive) : Looking for something fun to do to beat the summer heat?! Why not head over to Lake Aoki for a fun, easy and stress-free day camp? No packing or setup required! We have a private lakeside site prepared for you with everything set up. Chairs, tables and shade awning all ready and waiting. You can also rent SUP for the day to enjoy the cleanest lake in Japan!

¥1500 / person for day camp.
10:00 - 13:30 or 13:30 - 17:00 .

SUP Rental

Aokiko Day Camp [6/15-8/31]

For guests that are enjoying our Aokiko Day Camp, you can also rent a SUP or two (or three!) to cruise around the lake! The perfect way to enjoy the amazing clear blue water of Aokiko and extremely popular in the summer! From 6/15-8/31.

Rooms Sizes

We have 2 person, 4 person & 6 person rooms for your convenience. 9 of 11 rooms have ensuite. We fill the ensuite rooms first. Shared bathrooms are newly renovated. A maximum of 28 guests can stay at Ember Lodge comfortably.

Ember Lodge is located conveniently 100 meters from the family friendly Goryu ski slopes. The top of Goryu is connected to Hakuba 47 which hosts more advanced terrain.

Booking Policies

Partial Payment: Secure your stay with a 50% deposit. This deposit is non-refundable. The remaining 50% is due 90 days from arrival date.

Getting To Ember Lodge [Winter Season]

The easiest way to get to Ember Lodge is to take the Nagano Snow Shuttle bus service. This service goes to Hakuba station. If you select their drop off service, they will drop you off directly at Ember Lodge! Highly recommended for large groups or people with a lot of luggage! Nagano Snow Shuttle can accommodate large groups as well as single travelers. Click here for the link for Nagano Snow Shuttle.

You can also come by train to Kamishiro Station and we will pick you up at the station. It is 2 stops past Hakuba by local train.

We have free parking for guests that come by car. We strongly recommend 4WD vehicles with snow tires in the winter.

[Winter Only] A one-time pickup (from Kamishiro train station or Goryu bus stop) between 16:00~22:00 must be scheduled and informed by the day before arrival at the latest. If we are not informed by the day before at the latest, we may not be able to schedule a pickup due to staff restrictions. Checkin is from 16:00. If you arrive early before checkin, early checkin policies apply at ¥1000/person/hour. Early pickup from Goryu Bus stop or Kamishiro is possible with pre-booking and included in the early checkin fee. Pickup after 22:00 is until 24:00 and billed ¥4000/hour/person.

Discounted Ski Passes

We have a number of discounted ski passes available for guests. Our passes are cheaper than purchasing at the ticket window and saves you lining up on a powder day! Please inquire with staff at check-in or send us a message and we will have them ready for you when you arrive.

Rental Ski / Snowboard Equipment

We use Central Snow Sports for rental gear. They will do a one-time pickup and drop off one time for fitting. We recommend having them do the fitting the day before you are set to go skiing or snowboarding so that you can make the most of your trip. They can pick you up from Hakuba station, then drop you off at Ember Lodge with your gear. Central Snow Sports will collect rental gear from Ember Lodge after you are done. Be sure to specify that you are staying at Ember Lodge when reserving your gear so that your gear will be picked up properly. View their hompage here.

Early Check-In / Luggage / Winter Shuttle

[Winter Only] Complimentary Pickup by Shuttle Service

Complimentary Shuttle Service (16:00-22:00) between December to March: We offer a one time free pick-up from Kamishiro Train Station or Goryu bus stop between 16:00 ~ 22:00. If you need pickup earlier, please see our early check-in # policies below. Please share your arrival details at least 1 day in advance to arrange this. Please let us know your arrival time so we can coordinate it.
We need to know by the day before your arrival or scheduling pickup may not be possible.
# Pickup before 16:00 constitutes early check-in and is ¥1000 / person / hour before check-in.
Pickup after regular Shuttle Service Hours (after 22:00) is ¥4000 / person / hour after service hours.

Early Check In & Luggage Service

Regular check-in is from 16:00. If you need to have your equipment shipped to Ember Lodge or want to drop off your luggage early, the following policies are in place.

::: # Early Check-In :::

Dropping off luggage for storage on the day of, prior to check-in time constitutes early check in.
Early check-in is ¥1000 / hour / person
On the day of check-in we may be able to have your room ready for you from 11:00 or earlier. Please inquire with staff at least 1 day before about the possibility of this.
Without a previous inquiry 1 day before, early check-in may not be possible. Please confirm with Ember Lodge at least 1 day prior to your stay.

::: Pre-Check-In Equipment Luggage Storage :::

Please inform Ember Lodge BEFORE luggage arrives with the name of the shipper, person shipping it and type of luggage.
Equipment delivered by Yamato before the day of check-in will be charged a storage daily rate of ¥2000 per item.
For delivery of luggage without charge on the day of check-in, please have it delivered in the afternoon on the day of check-in.

::: Check-Out Luggage :::

As a rule we do not offer storage of equipment after check-out.
Please arrange with Yamato yourself for luggage pickup. You can also drop it off at Escal Plaza if necessary.
Delayed equipment pickup from Yamato will incur a ¥3000 / item / day storage charge, billed to the guests credit card upon successful pickup of the item.

Ski / Snowboard Lessons & Guiding

We work regularly with Hakuba Snow Sports for lessons. They professionally run their lessons out of Iimori (the adjoining field to Goryu) which can be accessed by skiing to the lesson meeting area. You can also take a 2 minute shuttle there from Escal Plaza as well. You can book your lessons with them here : https://booking.snowschoolboss.com/

Eating Out

At Ember Lodge, we have apres-ski and optional dinner service for guests [Winter Only]. For green season, please see our BBQ set on the deck.

If you are dining out in a group, we recommend reserving in advance. Tablecheck has recently been introduced to the Hakuba Valley. It is extremely easy to use. View a detailed explanation here.
